SH 130 Segments 5 and 6 opened on October 24th, 2012 with great anticipation. With more than 400 people attending opening week activities, the excitement was clear. We were honored to have Governor Rick Perry speak at the ribbon cutting calling SH 130 a boon for businesses and commuters alike.
The new segments of SH 130 span 41 miles through Travis, Caldwell and Guadalupe counties, from south of Austin to I-10 near Seguin. Segments 5 and 6 are a continuation of the northern segments of SH 130, which extend from Georgetown in Williamson County to Mustang Ridge in southeast Travis County. SH 130 provides an alternative to the congestion on I-35 in Central Texas.
Our company has made a $1.4 billion investment in Central Texas at no cost to the State Highway Fund. During construction, we supported more than 3,600 jobs and worked with more than 150 Texas-based companies. Now, we look forward to supporting economic growth along the highway that will support Texas families and business. Together, we are building a bright future for Central Texas.
Our website is designed to help keep you informed of traffic updates, address any questions you may have about the road, public involvement and our participation in community events.
I encourage you to explore this site. You will find information, maps and other documents to help you learn more about SH 130. We are also interested in hearing from you; please send any questions or comments to us using the Get Connected tab.
Our goal is to facilitate a safe and convenient highway for commuters and long distance travelers. We are proud to be considered one of the solutions that Texans can depend upon for safe and reliable transportation. We are committed to providing Texans a vital roadway so you can arrive home to your family safer and quicker.
I hope you are as excited as I am about the positive impact that this new transportation option will have on Central Texas for years to come.
