Signals at SH 130 frontage and SH 142 to be activated

Signal patterns will switch from flashing to standard operation

LOCKHART, TEXAS (July 14, 2023) — Traffic signals at the intersections of SH 142 and the northbound and southbound SH 130 frontage roads in Lockhart will switch from flashing to standard operation the week of July 31, weather permitting. (Activation is currently scheduled for Aug. 3)

Temporary digital message signs have been placed near the intersections since July 10 to alert drivers about the upcoming change. Contractors are also installing advanced warning beacons to alert drivers as they approach the signalized intersections.

The intersections meet the necessary conditions for activation based on a signal warrant analysis conducted by SH 130 Concession Company and approved by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Drivers are encouraged to stay alert and drive with caution as motorists adjust to the new signal pattern.
